Today, we partnered with the Climate Science Alliance - South Coast to put together an educational booth at the Pacific Beach Elementary School Science Day. At the event project scientists engaged local K-5 students with large printouts of local tidepools, examples of local tidepool organisms, a seaweed touch-tank, and marine biology sampling gear. Students were provided activity sheets, encouraging them to ask make observations and ask questions about local ecology and issues affecting the health of the ocean.
The genuine curiosity of these young students was inspiring.
We would like to thank the Climate Science Alliance-South Coast for inviting us to this event! For more information on the mission of the Climate Science Alliance - South Coast please follow this link.
